  The diagnostic opens the way the app does

  • /insets.html carries a manifest of its own, so adding it to the home screen
    actually opens it standalone. Without one iOS ignores the old Apple meta tag
    and opens it in Safari — toolbars, no safe-area insets, and a viewport 47
    points short of the screen, which is exactly what the first run reported. It
    also says out loud which mode it is in, so a screenshot of it cannot be
    ambiguous.
